TurnIt (“the app”) is developed by Turtle Slap (Andrés Alberto Michelena Klapper, Gustav-Mahler-Straße 45, 70195 Stuttgart, Germany). Contact: turtle.slap@outlook.com
TurnIt does not collect, store remotely, share, or sell any personal data. Everything the app does happens on your phone. The only place TurnIt sends data is to your own motorcycle’s dashboard, over Bluetooth, while you use it. The app has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking, and no servers.
1. Navigation guidance. With your explicit permission (Android’s “notification access”), TurnIt reads the notifications posted by supported navigation apps on your phone to extract the current maneuver, the distance to it, and the road name. For Locus Map, which posts no such notification, TurnIt instead requests the same guidance information (current maneuver, distance, road name, and arrival time) directly from the Locus Map app through its public developer interface, and only while your dashboard is connected. In both cases the information is processed in memory and forwarded over Bluetooth to your paired motorcycle dashboard. It is not persisted, not transmitted to the internet, and not shared with anyone. TurnIt ignores notifications from all other apps, and does not read your position from Locus Map.
2. Media playback information. If you enable the optional “show music when not navigating” feature, TurnIt reads the title and artist of the currently playing track from Android’s media session (via the same notification-access grant — no additional permission) and shows it on the dashboard. Same handling: in memory, Bluetooth to your own bike only, never stored or uploaded.
3. Your motorcycle’s Bluetooth data. The Bluetooth address, name, dash generation, and pairing/session data of the bikes you pair are stored locally on your phone so the app can reconnect. This never leaves your device (see Backups below).
4. App settings. Your preferences (e.g. background-sync options, display options) are stored locally on your phone.
neverForLocation). Navigation content shown on your dash comes from your
navigation app (its notifications, or Locus Map’s guidance interface), not
from TurnIt accessing your position. The optional one-time “TurnIt Pro” unlock is processed entirely by Google Play. We do not receive your name, payment details, or any other personal information from a purchase; the app only stores your entitlement status locally. For Google Play’s own processing, see Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Your local settings (including paired-bike data) may be included in your device’s standard Android backup to your own Google account, if you have device backup enabled. That backup is managed and encrypted by Android and is under your control in your device settings; the developer has no access to it.
All data lives on your device and is yours to delete at any time: use “Forget” in the app to remove a paired bike, or clear the app’s data / uninstall the app to remove everything.
TurnIt is not directed at children. It is a utility for operating a motor vehicle accessory and is intended for licensed riders.
TurnIt is developed in Germany and designed so that no personal data reaches the developer at all. Since we hold no data about you, there is nothing we could disclose, correct, export, or delete on request — those rights are exercised directly through your device (see Data retention above). If you believe your rights are affected, you can contact us at turtle.slap@outlook.com or lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
If the app’s data handling ever changes, this page will be updated and the effective date revised. Material changes will be mentioned in the app’s update notes.
